Our ongoing community ministries include:
Basketball for those from the area, high school and older - October through April
We open the church gym for young men from the neighborhood to come in and play some hoops. Halfway through the evening all play stops for "half-time" when there's a short presentation of biblical truth, followed by snacks and refreshments.
Monthly dinner and fellowship at the Medical Respite House
Food is prepared by a number of church members and taken by a group to the facility. We spend time eating with the residents, sharing our lives, praying for them, and generally making friends. A number of residents join us for Sunday services each week (picked up and returned by our members).
English as a Second Language Classes
These classes, generally conducted on Sunday evenings, are geared to meet the skill and need of the students.
Bible instruction at Henrico Jail West (under the auspices of Good News Jail and Prison Ministry)
A number of members have been involved in teaching Bible classes at the jail for some time.
